Meet The Homemaker
Hello! I’m Cris, and welcome to my cozy corner of the internet, Home of Virtues. This blog is a nostalgic nod to the early days of blogging, where authenticity and personal stories were at the heart of it all. Here, it’s like chatting with an old friend.
I’m a cradle Catholic, baptized and educated in Catholic schools through high school. My faith maturity took a significant turn in college when reading modern radical thinkers challenged my reason. That’s when I rediscovered and fell in love with the beauty, mystery, and intelligence of the Catholic Church, the wisdom of the early Church Fathers, and the salvific incarnation of Jesus.
After college, I lived in three different countries within three years. This cosmopolitan lifestyle broadened my perspective and deepened my faith. Along the way, I met Matthew, who became my husband. Like many women, I had a very specific and seemingly unattainable checklist for “The One.” Matthew fit the bill down to the last checkbox, and meeting him made me realize how important it was to be attentive to the proddings of the Holy Spirit. Not to mention, to trust in the Lord’s perfect providence. In our fifth year of marriage, Matthew and I were blessed with our firstborn, Andrew, in 2023. Parenthood has brought profound joy and learnings into our lives as we realize our collective dream to witness to the love of God through our family.
Involved in parish ministries, I am a proud member of the Legion of Mary. I love reading, journaling, and used to paint. Tennis is another passion, both playing and watching professional matches. Professionally, I work in the field of analytics and data science.
In Home of Virtues, I share authentic, relatable, and insightful thoughts and experiences on faith and family life. I hope you will find something that resonates with you! Feel free to reach out, share your story, and join me in this journey of faith, marriage, and motherhood. From my family to yours, let’s pursue holiness together.
